A bespoke kitchen is not defined by the number of manufactured cabinets. It is recognised by an organisation suited to your actions and the residence’s constraints. Preparing, washing, storing and entertaining do not always require the same layout. In renovation, we start with those uses, then check the services and dimensions that will support them without unnecessary movement. Materials follow a plan that already works.
Test the plan through everyday actions
Imagine doors open, someone at the sink and another person heading to the terrace. Movement should remain clear while appliances are in use. An island may provide useful workspace or obstruct circulation; it is not obligatory. For a bespoke kitchen in Cannes, we show appliances, storage and working positions before choosing fronts. Proportions become concrete decisions instead of being judged solely through a perspective.
Fix appliances before manufacture
Installation dimensions, appliance ventilation and technical access depend on the selected models. A late substitution may change a cabinet, supply or clearance. We therefore establish equipment and its requirements before manufacture. The hood, possible extraction route and air renewal are checked within the building’s context. An open kitchen also requires consideration of how smells and noise reach neighbouring rooms, so technical choices accompany the spatial design.
Coordinate services with cabinetry
Sockets, lighting, water supplies and drains must be positioned from the approved plan. Connections remain accessible; technical space is not absorbed by storage drawn without a survey. During a complete renovation, the sequence specifies when final measurements will be taken. A straightened wall or a new floor may affect the layout more than the initial drawings suggest. Manufacture should follow confirmed dimensions and a coherent installation plan.
Examine materials in their setting
A sample is considered in the room’s light, beside floors and walls. The worktop must suit water, products and maintenance habits; its edges and junctions matter as much as its surface. Fronts, handles and connections are compared at a useful scale. We seek a restrained continuity, with repairable details and replaceable wearing parts, so the kitchen remains understandable and serviceable as the residence is used.
Prepare approvals without haste
The useful dossier brings together layout, appliances, materials, hardware, lighting and maintenance access. Bespoke manufacture begins when these elements agree and measurements are confirmed. At handover, door movement, alignment, appliance operation and connections are checked together. Kitchen quality then reveals itself in ordinary actions: an accessible drawer, well-placed light, straightforward cleaning and a passage that remains clear even while the room is being used.
